Fire Sprinkler 5-Year Certification Testing
The State of California requires all Automatic Fire Sprinkler systems to have a 5 Year Certification test performed by a Certified Fire Protection Company. In addition, the California State Fire Marshall requires a Title 19 NFPA-25 test completed every five years. The fire sprinkler system installed on a property must be in compliance with NFPA 25 and Title 19, to perform as intended by their design specifications. GC Fire Sprinkler will complete a 5 year certification of your fire sprinkler system in accordance with NFPA 25 and Title 19. A Certification can be granted once the inspection, testing and any necessary repairs are complete. OUR TECHNICIANS WILL PERFORM AS NEEDED THE FOLLOWING:
- Visually inspect for proper orientation, support, and clearance of all sprinkler heads and system piping that are readily viewable and accessible from the floor
- Visually inspect all fire sprinkler heads, hangers and earthquake bracing
- Visually inspect all pipes and fittings to ensure they are free of corrosion and damage
- Inspect for any damage or blockage that could prevent the system from operating normally
- Perform main drain tests and record results to verify proper water volume and pressure is available for the sprinkler system
- Work and Lubricate all control valves
- Check alarm and supervisory devices to make sure proper annunciation and notification is indicated, if connected to the building alarm system
- Test flow switches by flowing water from the inspectors test connection
- Test tamper switches by exercising the valve through the full range of motion and verifying that signals are received at the fire alarm control panel
- Check system gauge calibration date and verify the water pressure is adequate
- Check for proper signage on valves
- Inspect spare head box for proper inventory of spare sprinkler heads and wrench
- Verify that all valves are in the proper position and sealed or supervised
- Verify signals are received at the central monitoring station, if the system is monitored
- Check fire department connections for proper caps and being unobstructed
- Perform a back flush of the fire department connection check valve to ensure there is no obstructions in the fire line, and inspect all rubber seals inside the check valve.
- Perform all tasks required under Title-19 and NFPA-25 Regulations
- Issue a report of our findings to You and the Fire Department
- Additional procedures could be required depending on system type and code requirments
Annual & Quarterly Inspections
Annual & Quarterly inspections ensure that you are meeting the minimum standard set for in NFPA 25 and Title 19. They also can help prevent small problems that develop from turning into big expensive repairs. Most importantly, quarterly inspections are the best way to make sure your property is protected by a properly functioning fire sprinkler system. Quite a few City Fire Departments and most Insurance Companies now require at least Annual Inspections on your Fire Sprinklers. And some require more frequent Inspections. Fire Hydrants Annual Service
All Fire Hydrants are required to be inspected by a Licensed Fire Protection Professional on an Annual and Five (5) Year Schedule to ensure Compliance with NFPA-25 & 291 Fire Code Regulations. The Annual Fire Hydrant Inspection consists of a Visual and an Operational Inspection of the Fire Hydrant Components ensuring the Valves, Stems, Caps, Seals and Threads are Operational, Lubricated and Undamaged. The Annual and Five (5) Year Fire Hydrant Inspections and regularly scheduled maintenance are essential to a maintaining a Fire Hydrants Fire Code Compliance and are necessary to ensure that any damage to the system is repaired so it will function as designed when needed...
